The bank is located at 24 Waterbury Road in the New Haven County town of Prospect, state police said.

At about 4:40 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 15, the Prospect Police Department received a report from the manager of the Ion Bank that an individual was trying a cash a fraudulent check at the drive-up banking window, Connecticut State Police said.

The driver left the bank as staff tried to verify her identity, police said. 

Police said the suspect was driving a white Subaru Forester with a registration plate that was later determined to be a misuse.
